身為MotoGP賽場的傳奇人物，Valentino Rossi無疑的是當前人氣最高的車手，過去也曾拿下六座MotoGP賽事年度冠軍，分別在2002、2003年以HONDA RC211V奪冠，2004、2005、2008、2009年則是以YAMAHA YZR-M1拿下冠軍，不過暱稱The Doctor. 的Rossi，也曾數次展現在賽車方面的天賦與熱愛。

事實上，Rossi過去曾在2006年時參加過Ferrari F1車隊在西班牙 Valencia賽道進行的季前測試，甚至做出僅較車神 Michael Schumacher慢了1秒的單圈成績，比同場測試的Red Bull車隊Mark Webber、David Coulthard以及Toyota車隊Jarno Trulli還要快！另一方面Rossi的身影也數次出現在WRC賽場上，在2002年時駕著PEUGEOT 206 WRC參加英國站賽事，雖說最後未能完賽，但之後於2006年時改以SUBARU Impreza WRC04參戰，並拿下總排名成績第11位的成績，2008年再以 FORD Focus RS WRC 07參加英國站賽事、並再度拿下總排名第12位的成績。
而近日在機能飲料贊助商Monster的安排、加上TOYOTA也是YAMAHA的大股東，因此Rossi在上週也前往美國Charlotte賽道體驗了NASCAR賽車的魅力，所駕駛的則是Kyle Busch的TOYOTA Camry賽車，駕馭起這輛搭載V8動力、具有650hp最大馬力賽車的表現，甚至讓車隊老闆Joe Gibbs萌生直接拿出合約簽下Rossi的想法。而Rossi的天份展現、可說無論在兩輪或四輪的賽場上都有著優異的表現，也讓粉絲更加期待Rossi在2013年賽季回鍋YAMAHA車隊後能夠再展雄風！
